Adobe Creative Cloud Licensing Updates
May 9, 2023All staff, faculty and students with Adobe licenses must download your current files from Adobe Creative Cloud storage and save them to a secure university file location prior to June 1.
Starting in June of 2023, changes are coming to the current CU Anschutz Medical Campus agreement with Adobe. In 2021, the campus secured an enterprise license for the university to provide the Adobe Creative Cloud suite at a reduced cost for faculty and staff. With financial support from our campus and in partnership with the other CU campuses' OITs, this agreement was able to be renewed with Adobe. In doing so it better aligns with the users of the Anschutz Medical Campus.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Even if you plan to opt-in for a new Adobe license, you must download your current files from Adobe Creative Cloud storage and save them to a secure university file location prior to June 1, 2023. Your files will be permanently be lost if you don’t take this important step. If you need support in transferring your files from Adobe to a secure file location such as OneDrive, our Service Desk is available to assist you.
Effective with the new agreement, starting July 2023 we will now provide Adobe Acrobat Pro licenses for each faculty and staff member at no cost. The Adobe Creative Cloud software suite will still be available at a reduced cost for faculty and staff at an annual fee of $100.00, compared to our normal education price of ~$300 (CDWG for 10 months).
For all faculty and staff interested in either the free Adobe Acrobat Pro license or the reduced cost Adobe Creative Cloud license, you will need to request a license by completing the applicable form on our website. Please see here for further details. If you currently have a Creative Cloud license, it will not automatically renew, and you will need to fill this form out to opt in, as well.
OIT thanks you for your patience as we navigate this transition with Adobe, and we look forward continuing to provide you solutions to better meet your needs.
