Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a suite of cloud computing services providing a series of modular cloud services including computing, data storage, data analytics and machine learning. It also provides infrastructure as a service, platform as a service, and serverless computing environments.

GCP provides a cloud-based collaborative infrastructure to support research requirements and enable researchers to have quick access to Google Cloud resources. Cloud-based services and solutions such as GCP can help advance our campus's capabilities to improve health outcomes including:

  • increase business agility
  • create cost-effective security capabilities
  • accelerate growth
  • leverage new technologies and industry best practices
Services are available to CU Anschutz researchers who are:

  • A named resource on an awarded research grant received by a principal investigator (PI) and that is tracked by the university
  • A named resource in a PI-run lab or center
  • Nominated for an account by a CU Anschutz PI

Costs for the services are pre-determined by Google based on usage and billed through OIT billing services.

Getting Started

Applicants must meet predetermined criteria based on the project you are working on as well as security policies. Complete the GCP Intake Form to get started with the qualification process.
