Before You Register

Below are the steps that students can take to prepare to register for classes each semester.

When accessing the student portal, ALL students must:

  • Complete Consent to Conduct Business Electronically (first time login only - more information available here)
  • Complete the Pre-Registration Task
  • Review and/or resolve Holds and To-Do items (which may impact registration eligibility)

Additionally, for students whose CU Anschutz programs utilize self-registration:

  • View your Enrollment Appointment(s) (if applicable)

If you need technical assistance in accessing the Student Homepage or your campus portal account, please contact CU Anschutz OIT via email [email protected] or phone at 303-724-4357.

Legal Name Changes & Federal Student Aid steps

For students updating their legal name on their student record, it is also important to update the FAFSA if they are receiving financial aid. Students must use their legal name (not a preferred name) when applying for financial aid. A student's legal name is the one that appears on their Social Security card.

Failing to update a student's FAFSA can create delays or issues with financial aid.

Access the CU Anschutz Name Change & Record Update Request form here.
