As part of ongoing efforts to improve user experience and enhance IT security, the Identity Management team will be migrating a key system to the cloud from May 20 to 23. There is no impact expected for existing university users, though new student and employee accounts assigned during this time will be created after this maintenance window. ISS and OIT are working with multiple departments and vendors campuswide to implement this migration quickly and effectively. Google Workspace is a collaboration tool being offered as an additional service for researchers to complement the existing capabilities in the university’s primary tool of choice (Microsoft 365). Each user is allotted 20GB max storage. The following apps are included in this service offering:
CU Anschutz researchers that have CU Anschutz university credentials and meet at least one of the following can utilize Google Workspace for their research needs:
Only public or confidential data may be used in Google Workspace at this time. Highly confidential information is not permitted to be used within Google Workspace. Review Data Classification guidelines to ensure you are using Google Workspace correctly.
Training is available through Skillsoft and it is required for users to complete the relevant courses in order to gain access to Google Workspace. You will be directed to these courses following submission of the OIT Google Workspace request form.
