Learning and Development

The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus Learning & Development unit is responsible for the design and delivery of professional development programs for all university faculty and staff. We provide courses on a wide variety of topics including professional development opportunities, interpersonal skills, manager competencies, and targeted topics specific to the university.

Our strategy is to provide professional and leadership development at all levels that is linked directly to supporting the university’s Mission, Vision, and Values; as well as, the promotion and execution of development programs at all career stages.

Course Description

Leading a team requires a different skillset than working as an individual contributor. To succeed in the face of new challenges this course provides insight into the mindsets, skillsets, and toolsets required to help supervisors excel in this sometimes tough and demanding role.

This interactive and dynamic course helps individuals transition successfully from an individual contributor to a leader of others. It also applies to leaders who have been in their roles for some time and are looking for practical and relevant guidance on how to effectively lead and manage their teams.
