STRATEGIC

Electronic Communications

At a complex organization like the CU Anschutz Medical Campus, communicating your message effectively can be a challenge. Reaching the right audience at the right time is crucial to effective email communications.

Here you’ll find information about the policies, tools and channels available to you and your team to help ensure your e-comms are consistently on brand and positioned for maximum reach and impact.

Mass Electronic Communications Policy

The CU Anschutz Medical Campus adopted its first mass electronic communications policy ‒ CU Anschutz Policy 3019A ‒ in March 2023 to streamline and target campus communications, and to better align with CU systemwide policy.

Under the policy, messages sent to the entire campus are only permitted when they meet specific guidelines and have leadership-level approval. This includes messages sent through the CU eComm program and Outlook listservs.

Events are promoted via the events calendar. Students and employees can view posted events and sign up for event digest emails on specific events or event categories.

eComm Program

The University of Colorado eComm program is a university-approved tool for email marketing and event management.

This suite of applications ‒ including Salesforce, Marketing Cloud and Cvent ‒ enables eComm users to engage with internal and external audiences in a compelling, compliant and data-driven manner.

The CU eComm program provides licensed CU Anschutz communicators with innovative digital tools that are secure and aligned with university policy and federal law. The program draws real-time data from CU’s employment and academic databases. Professional templates help ensure your communications meet branding and accessibility standards.

Please note that there is an annual license fee and training required to obtain a CU eComm license. License availability is determined by school/college policy. More information is available below.
