CU Anschutz Office of Student Affairs - Basic Life Support Certification |
The Office of Student Affairs offers Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for CU alumni, faculty, staff, students, and unaffiliated community members. This is a four-hour traditional classroom course where BLS is taught and demonstrated. Participants learn to recognize life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, and use an AED. You don't need to be a healthcare provider to participate. The BLS course provides a two-year certification through the American Heart Association. There are both new certification and renewal certification classes offered. Click here for more information. The Center for Bioethics and Humanities at CU Anschutz is hosting the exclusive world premiere of Soul Echoes, an immersive vocal drama elevating the narratives of children who have been detained at the US-Mexico border. Soul Echoes explores the way in which immigration detention affects the bodies of children. The work utilizes sonification technology to turn musical and bodily gestures into visual art. Composed by J.E. Hernandez, an award-winning composer who himself was detained as a young person returning from Mexico to be with his family in the U.S. Click here for more details.
