Roshni - New American Arts Festival

Roshni is a nonprofit organization in Aurora that creates bridges between minority cultural groups, underserved, and the mainstream to promote empathy and inclusivity through the performing arts.  Using art to uplift, heal, and inspire, Roshni - meaning Light in several languages - aspires to work with those at the margins, share stories with them, and help them to tell their own.

The third annual New American Arts Festival is taking place this month and will feature over 25 separate events happening across Aurora including art exhibitions and performances of storytelling, poetry and spoken word, theater, dance, music and song.  Click here for more information on each event and to register!

The Fax Partnership - Community Fundraising Event

CU Anschutz Office of Student Affairs - Basic Life Support Certification

The Office of Student Affairs offers Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for CU alumni, faculty, staff, students, and unaffiliated community members.  This is a four-hour traditional classroom course where BLS is taught and demonstrated.  Participants learn to recognize life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, and use an AED.  You don't need to be a healthcare provider to participate.  The BLS course provides a two-year certification through the American Heart Association.  There are both new certification and renewal certification classes offered.  Click here for more information.

The CU Anschutz Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Community Engagement in partnership with the CU Anschutz Office for Adaptable Resolution invite you to join us at our upcoming Community Circle!

Community Circles are a restorative practice that are essential for creating a positive environment, learning, building social capital, and resolving relational issues.  Community Circles are incredible growth opportunities that occur in a safe and supportive setting.  Please join us as we engage in strengthening relationships and shoring up our community campus culture.

CU Anschutz Center for Bioethics and Humanities - Soul Echoes World Premiere

The Center for Bioethics and Humanities at CU Anschutz is hosting the exclusive world premiere of Soul Echoes, an immersive vocal drama elevating the narratives of children who have been detained at the US-Mexico border. Soul Echoes explores the way in which immigration detention affects the bodies of children. The work utilizes sonification technology to turn musical and bodily gestures into visual art.  Composed by J.E. Hernandez, an award-winning composer who himself was detained as a young person returning from Mexico to be with his family in the U.S.  Click here for more details.

PreHealth Day at CU Anschutz is back again and we'd like to invite students and advisors interested in learning about our academic programs to attend!  This year's hybrid format provides the opportunity to join us on campus for informative presentations, interactive tours, and face-to-face interaction, or participate in the panel sessions remotely.  Open to all current high school and college students, parents and guardians, graduates, and advisors!  Click here to learn more.

CU Anschutz Office for Educational Outreach and Pathway Initiatives - CU Pre-Health Scholars Application
The Office for Educational Outreach and Pathway Initiatives at CU Anschutz is excited to share that the application is open for our CU Pre-Health Scholars (CUPS) pathway program.  CUPS is an academic enrichment and support program designed to motivate first-generation college-bound students to graduate from high school successfully, complete a college preparatory curriculum, pursue a college education, and matriculate into a professional health career program or graduate school program.  Please click here for more details about eligibility and the application process (including the link for students to apply.)

CU Anschutz Medical Campus Student Project - Teach MEDisability
The main goals of the Teach MEDisability project are to change the photos used to teach about disability in medical school, shift away from the idea that disability is something that needs to be "fixed", and show people with all kinds of disabilities living their lives.  We need your help to collect more photos!  Click here to learn more about the project including how to submit a photo.
