The CU Pre-Health Scholars Program (CUPS) serves grades 6th through 12th and exposes scholars to high-impact events, research, STEAM, and healthcare careers. At the same time, we are preparing our scholars to be competitive applicants for post-secondary education and matriculation into professional health careers or graduate school programs.
The CU Pre-Health Scholars Program envisions education and medical systems that provide quality service to all, through a comprehensive understanding of social determinants of health, researchers and practitioners center on communities' values, experiences, and needs.

The CU Pre-Health Scholars Program (CUPS) serves scholars from middle school and high school grades 6th through 12th. It is an academic enrichment and integrative support program designed to build cultural confidence and expose scholars to high-impact events, research, STEAM, and Healthcare careers while preparing our scholars to be competitive applicants for post-secondary education and matriculate into a professional health career program or graduate school.
Scholars participate in a Saturday Academy monthly during the academic year and in the summer intensive session annually. Our application is open to any student in Colorado from 6th through 12th grade.

The CU Pre-Health Scholars (CUPS) Program is open to all Colorado students in grades 6–12 who are interested in exploring careers in healthcare, biomedical research, and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics). Our program is especially valuable to first-generation students. 2026 Application Timeline
Due to the exceptional retention of our current scholars, many students are continuing in the CUPS Program from year to year. As a result, we are currently recruiting new students in grades 6 and 7 for the 2027–2028 program year. At this time, there are no openings for new high school students (grades 9–12). We are grateful for the continued interest in CUPS and encourage interested students and families to check our website for future opportunities." Students selected to move forward in the admissions process will be invited to interview in the fall. Newly admitted scholars will complete onboarding requirements during the spring and officially begin the program with the Summer Intensive in June 2027. Continuing Scholars Current CUPS scholars who remain in good standing and successfully complete annual recertification requirements will automatically continue into the next program year.
