Our volunteers spent the morning of May 8 helping beautify Sand Creek Park and Preserve, collecting more than 10 bags of trash while enjoying a morning of community connection and service. The annual event, now in its third year, reflects Staff Council’s ongoing commitment to giving back — and volunteers are already invited to join the next opportunity: a blanket-making event benefiting pediatric patients for Children’s Hospital Colorado.
On April 22, CU Anschutz Staff Council joined the campus community in celebrating Earth Day with a booth focused on something simple but meaningful – real conversations.
The new VOICE Champion Award celebrates staff who are making a real impact on our campus community — often in ways that don’t show up in a job description.
Laughter, quiet reflection, and connection filled the room—captured in the spontaneous reactions from attendees: “I really needed this!”, “Thanks for creating this space,” and “This is healing my inner child in so many ways.”
The success of the 2025 Toy Drive is a testament to what we can achieve together. From toys to clothing to food, every contribution made a difference. Thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered and spread the word.
