Bachelor's Degree - gown, cap, tassel: $29.75 + tax

Master's Degree - gown, hood, cap, tassel: $54.50 + tax

Doctoral Degree - gown, hood, tam, tassel: $68.00 + tax

The university covers the cost of renting regalia for participating faculty.

Campus Pick-Up: Avoid shipping fees by ordering by 9:59 P.M. MDT on April 15 and opting for pick-up at campus distribution on May 15, 15 or 18.

Optional Standard Home Shipping (21 days): Want your regalia sooner? Order by 9:59 P.M. MDT April 20 and pay $18.10 within the 48 contiguous states. Includes a return shipping label for the gown (and hood if applicable). Caps and tassels are yours to keep.

Optional Rush Home Shipping (14 days): April 20-30, all online orders will include Rush Shipping for $26.65. 

After April 30, cap and gown orders must be placed in person at campus distribution and will incur a $30 late fee.

Note: Herff Jones uses third parties to ship graduation items. Should shipping rates increase substantially between now and graduation, this pricing is subject to change.

 

*MD regalia does not have the option of home shipping.

MD graduates must register and order regalia no later than 9:59 P.M. MDT on April 15.

Faculty can register until May 1. After April 15, all orders will contain hoods in CU colors. 

All other graduates:

This is a two-step process requiring registration with the university first and then placing a separate online regalia order with Herff Jones.

April 15*: Last day to order and select campus pick-up

April 20*: Last day to order with standard shipping

April 30*: Last day to order in advance with rush shipping

A $30 late fee is applied to all walk-up rentals during on-campus distribution.

Herff Jones is CU Anschutz's official regalia provider for our commencement ceremonies. All graduate regalia worn in the ceremony must be provided by Herff Jones or approved by the commencement coordinator in advance of the ordering deadline.

Cords typically recognize academic achievement but may also connote group affiliation. Stoles are more likely to represent a student's affiliation in a club, organization, or community.

CU Anschutz generally permits accessories such as cords and stoles to be worn in our ceremonies. However, all new accessories must receive approval from the Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs.

Please submit any requests for new regalia accessories to the Commencement Office.

Note: Qualified Native American students may wear and display traditional tribal regalia in our graduation ceremonies, per Colorado revised statute. 22-1-142.

If you selected on-site regalia pick-up, cap and gown distribution will take place in Ed 2 North 1304 on Thursday, May 14 and Friday, May 15 from 11:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. each day. Any regalia not claimed on Thursday or Friday will be available beginning at 7:00 A.M. on Monday in the same location.

Home-shipped regalia orders will arrive within 21 days with standard shipping or 14 days with rush shipping.

Announcements and fine paper accessories will arrive to your home within 30 days from the date you place your order.

Diploma frames are estimated to arrive in 5-7 weeks from the date you place your order.

Class rings are estimated to arrive in 12-14 weeks, but varies based on product selection and the shipping location.

All gowns and hoods are rented and must be returned to Herff Jones within 10 days of the ceremony. Items not received by Herff Jones 30 days after the ceremony will be considered a purchase and the following amounts will be charged to the card on file. 

Bachelor - $150

Master - $350

Doctor - $500

Undergraduate students must return only their gown. Graduate students must return their gown and hood. All students may keep their cap/tam and tassel.

Return instructions along with a pre-paid return label will be included with home-shipped orders. Regalia will also be collected immediately following the ceremonies and can be returned this way whether it was shipped to you or not.

Yes, a friend or classmate is allowed to pick up regalia on your behalf. Please email them a copy of your order confirmation to present to Herff Jones staff. 

Graduates other than MDs have the option of having regalia shipped to their homes for an additional fee through April 30. This is often beneficial if a student is hiring a photographer for professional photos and wants time before the ceremony to schedule this.

Because of how MD regalia is paid for, this option is not available to them.

There is no shipping fee applied if on-site pick-up is selected. However, home shipping is the only delivery option for orders placed April 16-30.

Regalia and accessories (i.e. stoles, souvenir tassels) are eligible for a refund as long as they are unopened and unused.Refunds should be requested no more than two weeks following the ceremony date.

Diploma frames can be refunded as long as the request is made within 30 days of receipt. Return shipping is the responsibility of the customer. The refund will be issued once the frame is received by Herff Jones.

Sales of announcements and announcement accessories (i.e. tissue inserts) are non-refundable.

Class ring sales are non-refundable.

All shipping and handling costs are considered non-refundable.

Any product found to have a manufacturing or material defect will be refunded or replace by Herff Jones.

Due to the high volume of transactions that Herff Jones processes during graduation time, expect to receive refunds approximately 8-10 weeks after the returned item has been received by Herff Jones. 

The American Council on Education's Academic Costume Code lists the colors allocated to the various fields of learning that have been largely standardized by the Intercollegiate Bureau of Academic Costume.
