CU Anschutz is committed to providing an inclusive and accessible commencement experience for all attendees. This page outlines the accessibility accommodations available for the commencement ceremonies, including services for individuals with mobility, vision or hearing needs, as well as information about service animals and seating arrangements. Please review the details below and contact the commencement office with any questions or specific accommodation requests.
Graduates and faculty will be asked during the registration process to identify any disability-related accommodations that may be needed to participate fully in the commencement ceremonies. Ramps can be added to stages for wheelchairs and anyone who is unable to negotiate stairs. All ceremonies are streamed with live captions and sign language interpreters can be provided upon request. Service animals (not emotional support animals) are permitted at the ceremony and must be pre-communicated during registration for planning purposes.
If you would like to speak with the commencement coordinator about accessibility arrangements for the ceremony, please email [email protected].
Resources are available across the campus to make it as easy as possible for attendees with mobility issues to get around without requiring arrangements in advance. For guests with needs other than transportation, graduates are asked to provide details to the commencement office during the registration process.
Parking and Campus Shuttles
Close-in parking is available in the Ignacio, Kiowa and Monte Vista lots. Passes can be requested in advance from the commencement office.
Golf carts are available to shuttle guests needing assistance from all visitor parking lots to the ceremonies and back again. Look for Information Tents and parking attendants in multiple locations to be connected with transportation.
Accessible Seating
Designated seating is available at all campus ceremonies. This seating is often covered to provide protection from the weather and easily accessible by wheelchairs, walkers, etc.
Reserved seating will be provided for guests needing sign language interpreters and those who are vision-impaired. All other ADA seating is first-come, first-served.
Service animals (not emotional support animals or pets) are permitted on campus.
Wheelchairs and scooters are not available for rent on campus but can be found locally through medical supply companies.
Please contact the commencement office to communicate your needs so we can best serve you.
