Accessibility Arrangements

CU Anschutz is committed to providing an inclusive and accessible commencement experience for all attendees. This page outlines the accessibility accommodations available for the fall commencement ceremony, including services for individuals with mobility, vision or hearing needs, as well as information about service animals and seating arrangements. Please review the details below and contact the commencement office with any questions or specific accommodation requests.

Graduates and faculty will be asked during the registration process to identify any disability-related accommodations that may be needed to participate fully in the commencement ceremonies. A wheelchair lift is available at the stage for anyone who is unable to negotiate stairs. The ceremony is streamed with live captions and sign language interpreters can be provided upon request. Service animals (not emotional support animals) are permitted at the ceremony and must be pre-communicated during registration for planning purposes.

If you would like to speak with the commencement coordinator about accessibility arrangements for the ceremony, please email commencement@cuanschutz.edu.

Resources are available to make it as easy as possible for attendees with mobility issues to attend without requiring arrangements in advance. For guests with needs other than parking, graduates are asked to provide details to the commencement office during the registration process.

Parking

Close-in parking is available in the National Western Center lot. Passes can be requested in advance from the commencement office

Accessible Seating

The Livestock Center Arena is a fully accessible venue.

Seating closer to the stage is provided for guests needing sign language interpreters and those who are vision or hearing impaired.

Seating in this section also has wider aisles to accommodate wheelchairs, scooters, walkers, etc. to avoid blocking the aisles. Please contact the Commencement Office at commencement@cuanschutz.edu to communicate your needs so we can best serve you.

Service animals (not emotional support animals) are permitted at the ceremony.

Wheelchairs and scooters are not available for rent through the university but can be found locally through medical supply companies.
