This program will be scheduled on selected Thursdays from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus (AMC). 

The program costs $500 plus a $15 per student fee.

The maximum number of students per session is 30, and the minimum is 20. Schools are responsible for their transportation to and from the AMC.

 

Schools with a school-wide Title I program may be eligible for a free program session.

To run our program smoothly and ensure University compliance, we require a chaperone rate of 1:10 (chaperone: student). We also require that the school provides an interpreter for English as a Second Language students or Spanish-speaking only students with a ratio of 1:4 (interpreter: Spanish-only speaking students).The School is required to provide sack lunches for their students and staff.

Prior to the arrival of the visiting organization to the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus or any other location as part of COAHEC’s CADAVERS program, the instructor/chaperone of the visiting organization must:

 

• Ensure all Participants’ completion of the electronic CADAVERS registration,
• Ensure a 1:10 instructor/chaperone to student ratio throughout the visit,
• Provide an English as a Second Language (ESL) chaperone/instructor for language accommodations,
• Ensure an adult, non-student Spanish interpreter for Spanish-speaking only students in a 1:4 interpreter-to-student ratio is available throughout the visit as needed,
• Ensure safe transportation to and from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus.
• Provide participants with gloves and face masks.
• Ensure all participants wear closed-toed shoes, and those with long hair have it tied up. 
• Ensure the school provides a sack lunch for the students to enjoy during their visit to the Anschutz Medical Campus.
• Ensure you only bring students who have not participated in the COAHEC CADAVERS before.

Anatomy Lab Rules and Regulations

 

This checklist is for Confirmed and registered schools participating in a CADAVERS session. Please take the time to read the following carefully:

1. Your session will start at 9:00 am sharp and end at 2:00 pm. Please arrive on time so students have ample time to change into our scrubs and complete the pre-survey. A late start will take time away from the participants' CADAVERS experience.
2. Before coming to campus, please ensure all participants have completed their registration. Failure to register will prevent that person from participating and require us to send them home.
3. If any of your students require language interpretation, you must bring a qualified interpreter because the lessons will only be presented in English. COAHEC will not provide an interpreter. A ratio of 1 interpreter to 4 students is required. An interpreter can count towards the ratio of 1 chaperone to 10 students.
4. You are required to provide your students with gloves and face masks. All visitors must wear closed-toed shoes, and those with long hair should have it tied up.
5. COAHEC does not provide lunch. The school must provide a sack lunch for the students to enjoy during their visit to the Anschutz Medical Campus. The students should attend the session well-fed, and we encourage a snack just before arrival. No eating is allowed in the lab. Students will have an opportunity to eat their sack lunch during our scheduled break.
6. Please have the bus drop off and pick up participants at the doors of Education 2 North at 13120 E 19^th Ave, Aurora, CO 80045 (the doors are facing 19^th Avenue). The bus can stop on the side of 19^th Avenue. A COAHEC staff member will welcome and guide you to the starting point of COAHEC CADAVERS.
7. If you need to park vehicles for the 5-hour program, COAHEC will provide complimentary passes for bus parking, not private cars. Please inform us beforehand if you need bus parking permits by emailing Joseph Martinez at [email protected].
8. Students may not participate in the COAHEC CADAVERS experience if they know a person who donated their body to science or to the Colorado State Anatomical Board (CSAB) within the last 3 years.
9. Students may not participate again in the COAHEC CADAVERS experience if they have participated in the program before.

• Ensure that they read the Anatomy Lab rules and expectations.

 

If your Administrator, Teacher, or Instructor has confirmed your CADAVERS session and you are in the process of registering, please carefully read the attached important document and share it with your parent or guardian.

2. Before coming to campus, please ensure you have completed your electronic registration and waiver form with your parent or guardian. Failure to register will require us to ask you to leave and prevent you from participating.
3. You may not participate in the COAHEC CADAVERS program if you know someone who donated their body to science or the Colorado State Anatomical Board (CSAB) within the last 3 years.
4. You may not participate again in the COAHEC CADAVERS experience if you have participated in the program before.
   

Students can not reserve COAHEC CADAVERS sessions on behalf of their teachers, instructors, or school administrators. School administrators, teachers or instructors must complete the interest form and reserve the CADAVERS session. We encourage you to share the CADAVERS information with your teacher or school administrator.

COAHEC does not accept paper registrations and waivers. All registrations and waivers must be completed online via the link sent to the administrator, teacher, or instructor. If you have not received the link to the registration and waiver please contact your instructor.

You are required to complete your electronic registration and waiver form at least 7 days before the date of their session. Minors must have a parent/guardian complete the registration form with them.

 

If you don't have a completed electronic registration and waiver form on file on the day of the session, you will be asked to leave and will be unable to participate.
