The state of Colorado is served by six regional Area Health Education Centers (AHECs):
Each regional center is responsible for identifying and addressing the unique health and education needs of the communities within its designated area.
The Colorado AHEC Program Office, located at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, serves as the central coordinating hub for the statewide AHEC system. It provides strategic direction and program oversight, as well as resources, tools, infrastructure, and support and guidance for regional activities.
By working together, the COAHEC Program Office and the regional centers ensure that healthcare education and services are distributed in underserved areas, leading to a stronger healthcare system across Colorado.
