Since 1989, the JJ Cohen Mini Med School at CU Anschutz has educated and thrilled audiences of all ages and interests throughout Colorado and beyond with presentations by renowned doctors on topics ranging from chronic medical conditions to current and emerging medicine.
It is a series of eight lectures on basic science as it relates to medicine and is presented by medical doctors from the CU Anschutz School of Medicine.
The 8-week lecture series is split into two semesters. The Fall semester has four lectures on Wednesday evenings in October, while the remaining four occur in April during the Spring semester. Each semester includes a “Frontier’s in Medicine” presentation.

Meet our Fall 2026 Presenters
Megan A. Adams, MD
Megan Adams, MD, FACS, is an abdominal transplant surgeon and Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. She serves as Section Head of Pediatric Transplant Surgery and Surgical Director of Pediatric Living Donor Transplantation, caring for children with end-stage liver and kidney disease at Children’s Hospital Colorado.
Dr. Adams is passionate about expanding access to liver transplantation, particularly through living donor liver transplantation, and improving outcomes for children awaiting transplant. Her clinical and research work focuses on pediatric transplantation, living donation, and reducing barriers to lifesaving transplant care. She is also deeply committed to educating and mentoring the next generation of transplant surgeons.
For Dr. Adams, the greatest privilege of transplant surgery is helping children with liver disease return to childhood—and giving their families the opportunity to imagine a future beyond transplant.
CT Lin, MD
CT Lin MD is the author of a book on informatics and CMIO leadership called “It’s Not About the Tech.” He is Professor of Medicine at the University of Colorado and teaches communications and design thinking workshops, and writes about the intersection of clinicians, patients and technology. He gives talks and sings ukulele songs about automation complacency, the anxiety of technology acceleration, predictive and generative AI, and information transparency with patients. His national awards include "Healthcare IT innovator" and "Electronic Physician of the Year."
All in-person sessions will be on the CU Anschutz campus.

Handicap Parking
Designated handicap parking is available in the visitor pay parking lots. Visitors must display the State of Colorado Disability Placard on their vehicle while in the visitor handicap parking areas along with parking payment receipt or the vehicle will be ticketed. Handicap parking spaces are subject to the same rate structure as indicated in the Patient and Visitor Parking section below.
Patient/Visitor Parking
On the CU Anschutz, there are daily cash customer parking lots for CU Anschutz Patients and Visitors: Parking for patients or visitors is located at any parking lot signed "Patient and Visitor Parking" and at parking meters. The daily parking rates are as follows:
- $1.00 per hour up to 8 hours
- Daily Maximum Rate - $8.00
- Parking meters are 25 cents / 15 minutes with a maximum stay of 4 hours
- Evenings after 4PM - $1.00 flat rate
- Weekends and Campus Holidays - $1.00 flat rate
The visitor parking lots have automated pay stations. The license plate of the vehicle parked will need to be entered at the pay station upon payment. The receipt does not have to be displayed on the dash of the vehicle. The pay stations accept many forms of payment:
- Cash/coin up to a $5 bill (Change is NOT given at the machine. A refund receipt will be issued and will need to be taken to the parking office in Building 500.)
- Credit card payments accepted (Visa, MasterCard, Discover)
- Day Passes can be purchased from the Parking Office
Parkmobile Pay By Phone
Using Parkmobile allows you to pay for parking, at Parkmobile enabled pay stations, by phone. When using Parkmobile you choose how long you want to park and pay for that amount of time. When the expiration time approaches, you can receive a text alert allowing you to extend your time (within the maximum time limit for the lot.) Advantages include:
- Decreased chance of parking fines with text message expiration reminders sent to your cell phone.
- A new smart phone app which enables all of the capabilities of the service with the touch of a button.
- Parking receipts via email/text message.
- Corporate accounts: Parkmobile offers the option to create corporate accounts with an unlimited number of parkers and the ability to pre-pay in denominations available for departmental use.
- A $.35 transaction fee will apply for each transaction.
To pay by phone, you will first need to create an account with Parkmobile.
