H.O.P.E. Institute
The H.O.P.E. Institute is a week-long free camp held during the month of July, At the University of Colorado – Colorado Springs (UCCS) and the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus (CU Anschutz) in Aurora.
Students invited to this camp will receive a variety of experiences, helping them take their first steps in discovering a career in the health professionals industry. This includes but is not limited to:
- The Anatomy in Clay® learning system.
- Hands-on workshops involving suturing labs, personal statement building, and Neuroanatomy.
- Healthcare simulations with live actors, SimMan® 3G and Gaumard Manikins.
- Anatomy lab experience.
- Laboratory experiences with the CU Anschutz School of Pharmacy.
- Presentations from UCCS and CU Anschutz faculty, staff, and students on their professions, their healthcare career journeys, and what it takes to get there. And more!
Students must be under 18 in August to be eligible to participate in the COAHEC HOPE Institute.

You are invited to apply to the Colorado Area Health Education Center (COAHEC) HOPE Institute Summer Camp July 14th - 20th, 2024!
Join us for an exciting and educational journey into the world of healthcare occupations at the COAHEC HOPE Institute, a week-long free summer camp from July 14th to July 20th, 2024, at the University of Colorado - Colorado Springs (UCCS) and the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus (CU Anschutz) in Aurora. This camp is open to enthusiastic learners aged 14 to 17 who are interested in healthcare occupations and in making a healthy difference in their communities.
COAHEC will give priority acceptance to students from the HOPE Program who have attended at least 3 HOPE Program Sessions in the academic year 2023-2024.
We encourage students from rural or other underrepresented backgrounds in healthcare professions to apply!
