The AHEC Scholars Program is an interdisciplinary education and training program with curricula focused on rural and/or underserved populations. Scholars are required to commit to two years within the program, which consists of a minimum of 40 hours per year of team-based training in a rural or underserved environment and an additional 40 hours per year of didactic education focused on the 8 core topic areas:
Students in programs lasting one year or shorter may complete a one-year option.
