Military Medicine and the Mind

At the CU Anschutz Medical Campus, our ties to the military and veteran community run deep. Located on the historic grounds of the Fitzsimons Army Medical Center and  within 80 miles of seven military bases, we are ideally situated to lead advancements in military medicine.

As our campus has grown, so have our military-focused programs and partnerships. With two outstanding hospital partners ‒ and the Rocky Mountain VA Medical Center to our east and the State Veterans Home to our west ‒ our campus has become a hub of cutting-edge research and innovations that bridge military, veteran and civilian care.

Transforming Trauma, Driving Innovation

At Transforming Healthcare: Military Medicine and the Mind last month, we showcased groundbreaking work at the Marcus Institute for Brain Health and the Center for Combat Medicine and Battlefield Research ‒ two flagship campus institutions known nationally for innovation and impact.

From traumatic brain injury and PTSD to emergency medicine, combat care and suicide prevention, our faculty are bringing real-world solutions to the fore and changing lives for the better.

We are proud of the work underway here today to transform trauma into healing and resiliency, and to deliver the latest and best to those who have so selflessly served our country ‒ and to all those under our care.

Sincerely,

Don Elliman
