Learn more about the different types of university accounts to make sure you are requesting the correct type for the purpose you need.  

Important Note: OIT recommends you complete this process at least two weeks before the start date of your sponsored user. This provides adequate time to work through any issues in the process.

Tips for Requesting a Sponsored User Account:

• An employee internal to the University of Colorado, who will work directly with the sponsored user, must complete a Sponsored User Form (login required).
  • This employee will be taking on the role as "sponsor" for the external sponsored user and will work directly with the external sponsored user while they conduct business with the university to ensure university best practices, regulations (HIPAA, FERPA) and policies are being adhered to.
    
• Sponsored Users Requests will be processed in one week, pending approval from the designated approver in your department.
  

Tips for Completing the Sponsored User Form:

• Part 1: fill in the information of the external individual who requires a sponsored user account. 
• Part 2: fill in the information of the university employee who will be sponsoring the external individual.
