The university has expanded its OpenAI agreement to provide all eligible faculty, staff and CU Anschutz students secure access to advanced Plus features in CU ChatGPT Edu. All advanced features are available at no additional cost and may be used with HIPAA, FERPA and highly confidential data. Please follow university data security policies and ensure you are logged in to the secure, university-provided CU ChatGPT Edu environment before entering any university data.   

These Plus features are now automatically available in your CU ChatGPT Edu account: 

• Voice 
  
• Skills 
  
• Agents 
  
• Plugins 
  
• Medium and high effort reasoning modes

Additional advanced features are available at no cost by request only for eligible faculty, staff and CU Anschutz students. These features require a higher level of responsibility and acknowledgement: 

• Codex 
  
• Work 
  
• Microsoft Plugins 
  
• ChatGPT Add-Ins for Excel, PowerPoint, and Word 
  

Codex and Work can complete complex tasks, such as analyzing documents or code and generating reports from a single prompt. Microsoft Plugins connect ChatGPT Edu to Microsoft 365 data, while ChatGPT Add-Ins let you work directly within Microsoft 365 applications.  

To request access to these features: 

• Take the required AI training for CU ChatGPT Edu access (if you already have a CU ChatGPT Edu account, skip this step you do not need to do it again). 
  
• Visit the Service Portal and submit:  
  
  • The request form for Codex/Work/Microsoft Plugins. 
    
  • The request form for ChatGPT Add-Ins (different from the form above).  
    
• Agree to the proper use of these tools for data security and collaboration (these features have a greater risk of file deletion).  
  
• Download the CU ChatGPT Edu desktop application to use Codex and Work.  
  

Note: Faculty may sponsor a CU Denver student to access Codex for research by submitting the required request form.
