Ombuds Office
A confidential, independent space to explore concerns, resolve conflict, and receive guidance on complex situations.
Services include: Conflict navigation support, Organizational climate feedback, Referrals to appropriate resources, Systemic trend identification for leadership.
Office of Adaptable Resolutions
A collaborative and compassionate resource for informal and early conflict resolution.
Services include: Restorative Justice Facilitation, ICF Accredited Professional Coaching, Mediation and Facilitated dialogue, Community-Building Processes, Conflict De-escalation Training, Preventative Consultation, and Outreach.

Under the leadership of Dr. Nelia Viveiros, the Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Resources, the Ombuds Office and Office of Adaptable Resolutions provide critical services to students, faculty, and staff at CU Anschutz. These offices promote respectful communication, early resolution, and a healthier campus environment.
With over 20 years of experience in higher education—and a deep background in mediation, coaching, and community engagement and facilitated dialogue—Dr. Viveiros ensures that both offices uphold principles of neutrality, inclusivity, and trust. Her leadership supports a proactive approach to conflict and communication challenges across the university.
