Nelia Viveiros, EdD, LLB, ACC, Med/Arb(c), serves as the Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Resources at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. With over 20 years of experience in higher education, she oversees and actively engages with the Adaptable Resolutions and Ombuds offices to directly provide essential services. Dr. Viveiros supports the campus community through training, development, restorative justice, mediation, conflict mitigation, and advocacy.
As an accredited coach with the International Coaching Federation (ICF), mediator, arbitrator, and restorative justice advocate, Dr. Viveiros has successfully facilitated thousands of complex academic conflict resolutions. Her leadership in each office fosters a supportive, fair, and inclusive environment for all students, faculty, and staff.
Dr. Viveiros’s scholarly work centers on organizational development, change, and trauma within institutions. She has been published in the Journal of Family Violence, Inside Higher Ed, Feminist Criminology, and the Journal of Loss and Trauma, and she co-edited Incivility in Higher Education with Cognella. She is recognized by the Marquis Who’s Who Publications Board (2024) and is a member of the Scholars Strategy Network. Dr. Viveiros also teaches courses on research capstones, access and equity, and the legal/historical context of U.S. higher education.
