What is it? Maxient is a software program utilized by U.S. higher education institutions to track and record trainee behaviors (i.e. student discipline, academic integrity, care and concern records, Title IX matters, or just an “FYI”).
Why is it useful? Maxient has centralized reporting and record keeping that will help us connect the dots and prevent students from falling through the cracks by helping us identify students in distress and coordinate the efforts of various departments to provide follow-up.
How will ORE Use Maxient? We have created an ORE Maxient Form for students, faculty, and staff to share any concern or report any type of issue or concern about oneself or others. Once submitted, the form will be routed to the corresponding Program Director and Program Administrator for follow up. If an individual prefers NOT to notify the program, they may select "ORE" from the Program list and the form will instead be routed to the ORE Assistant Dean for Student Affairs.

During the first year, CSD students will meet with members of the Graduate Advisory Committee (GAC) on a rotating basis to discuss the student’s progress in the CSD Program and any questions that may come up. Students will be expected and encouraged to seek advice from the GAC, Director, and/or other CSD faculty and student members prior to lab rotations, Comprehensive Examination, and any other situation requiring faculty consultation.
The handbook is a document and guide for current students that includes parts of the Graduate School policies and the CSD Graduate Program Guidelines.
The Faculty Membership Committee's mission is to maintain faculty who are committed to graduate education and who effectively conduct imaginative research programs is critical to the success of the program. Faculty contribute through roles as either training faculty, who directly mentor CSD students in their research labs, or non-training faculty, who contribute to the education, service, and intellectual community of CSD but do not mentor CSD students in their research labs.

As part of our career development program, we feature workshops that were developed through an NIH Broadening Experiences in Scientific Training (BEST) award. In 2013, the NIH selected the Graduate School at the University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus as one of 17 universities nationwide to receive a BEST award. This award has enabled the development of unique career development opportunities in biomedical science training that increase the preparedness and employability of bioscience PhDs in the non-academic workforce, and we are excited to incorporate these opportunities into our programming.
All students receive a stipend and benefits throughout their tenure in the program. Additional grants and fellowships are available to advance research projects and support career development.
