COVID-19 Protocols & Resources

Below you can find information and resources related to COVID-19. CU Anschutz continues to monitor COVID-19 as part of sustaining a healthy campus community.


Guidance


The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention offers respiratory virus guidance for people with COVID-19 and other viruses including flu and RSV.

Note that CDC offers separate COVID-19  guidance for healthcare settings. CU Anschutz employees and students working in clinical facilities must follow the protocols of those facilities.

Vaccination


  • Effective July 1, 2023, CU Anschutz no longer requires COVID-19 vaccination, with some exceptions. 
    • Those working in CU Anschutz-operated clinical facilities that treat patients or involve human study subjects must follow UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital vaccine requirements and protocols.
    • Those working in Children’s Hospital Colorado, other affiliate hospital facilities or other off-site locations must follow the vaccine requirements and protocols of those facilities.
    • Students involved in clinical rotations must comply with the vaccine requirements and protocols of those sites.
    • Individual CU Anschutz departments, schools or units may continue to require vaccination against COVID-19.
  • Staying up to date on vaccines and boosters is strongly encouraged.
  • Individual units may require vaccination if desired.

Testing



Masks


  • Masks are not required.
  • Anyone may wear a mask at their discretion.
  • Individual units may require masking if desired.
  • Those returning to campus after illness may wear a mask per public health guidelines.
