COVID-19

Important Travel Update

March 9, 2020

Effective immediately, CU Anschutz is suspending all work-related domestic and international travel for employees and students. This includes any travel associated with scholarly activities as a CU employee, even if travel is funded by a government grant, foundation, company, or other university.

Exceptions may be considered only in extraordinary cases:

  • Exceptions for international travel must be approved by the provost.
  • Exceptions for domestic travel must be approved by your Dean or Administrative Vice Chancellor.

As an academic medical campus, we are taking these proactive steps to protect the health of our staff, students, community and the patients that we serve.

In addition, we strongly recommending that you limit your personal travel. In particular, if you are required to self-quarantine after a personal trip, be aware of how your absence impacts your unit and university operations.  For those traveling on personal travel, you may not be eligible for administrative leave for self-quarantine. Please review guidance here.

We strongly encourage people at risk for serious illness from COVID-19, as identified by the CDC, not to travel.

Please be in contact regularly with your supervisor if you are required to self-quarantine to determine when you can return to work.
