The Postdoctoral Association holds an annual PDRD on the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. This symposium affords local postdocs the opportunity to present their research during poster sessions and short talks. PDRD also features guest speakers, career panels, and other fun events.
Postdoctoral Research Day 2023 (PDRD'23) is back in-person on Thursday, July 13th!
Over the last year, postdocs have been in the spotlight thanks in part to the NIH Advisory Committee to the Director (ACD) Working Group on Re-Envisioning the Postdoctoral Experience. Through a request for feedback and numerous community calls, the ACD working group heard about many of the current challenges facing postdocs. These issues not only pose challenges for current postdocs, but also pose a threat for future scientists choosing a postdoc path. So, why do a postdoc?
With this backdrop, the 2023 PDRD Planning Committee decided to focus our theme on reminding ourselves WHY we do the work that we do. This year’s theme is “Finding Purpose in Your Postdoc and Beyond” and will provide opportunities to think about why we do what we do now and into our future careers. Please join us for a day of celebration, connection, and reflection!
