Commuting by bike is very popular in Denver. Here is the information to find parking locations for your bike or scooters on campus.

Know Your Rights

Although all postdocs are guaranteed some leave for pregnancy, childbirth, or related conditions, the amount of time will vary based on your classification as either a trainee or employee.

If eligibility requirements are met, the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) provides 12 weeks of unpaid leave for pregnancy, childbirth, and/or baby bonding, and allows employees to keep their health insurance.

At educational institutions, including CU Anschutz, the medical needs of employees during pregnancy, childbirth, and related conditions are protected by Title IX and Title VII.

Learn more about federal protections for scholar-parents here.

Milk and Cookies

CU Anschutz has a support group for new parents called Milk and Cookies. The group also offers travel grants to help with the expenses of child care while you are attending a conference or workshop.

Lactation spaces are available throughout the campus for breastfeeding parents. More information and a map of lactation spaces can be found here.

Miscellaneous Resources

The Campus Student Services website maintains a list of schools and child care options in the area.

CU Denver and CU Anschutz human resources have additional information regarding early childhood days and childcare assistance programs.
