Chair
Barbara Helfrich, MSc
I have been retired for nine years, and through this second career I have developed a retirement plan that keeps me involved with science, mentoring and time to pursue meaningful cultural events and travel. Retirement from a university career, whether in lab research, clinical practice, presenting research at scientific meetings through talks and posters is difficult for many. One needs a plan for this next career, and ways to continue to contribute to their field of interest or how to pivot and pursue new interests. Through the RFA we can assist retirees into this new and exciting time.

Chair-Elect
Robert Schwartz, MD
During my career I mentored dozens of students, residents, fellows and junior faculty. This mentoring relationship has led to 3 successful Geriatric Medicine Division Heads, 2 Associate Deans, and many extramurally funded investigators in geriatrics, internal medicine, endocrinology, emergency medicine and physical therapy. I have actively participated in training and mentoring NPs and PAs since 1999 and helped write Colorado laws that promote their education and repayment of their educational debt. I led the Multidisciplinary Center on Aging from 1999 until my retirement. I wrote an NIH/NIA funded research fellow training program (in collaboration with CU-Boulder) that has been continuously funded since 2001. Our VA GRECC is one of only 20 in the country and was the first one funded in over 20 years. The research and clinical faculty in the Division of Geriatric Medicine have grown enormously since 1999, but more importantly, over the last 27 years, it has been one of the (if not the) most stable groups at AMC.
Treasurer
Elaine Spector, PhD
My goal for the RFA is ensure that we are financially able to support the needs of our members. I am excited to participate in the revival of the RFA. My experience as a laboratory medical director and treasurer of a national board for over 30 years has given me the knowledge and experience to create budgets, monitor expenses and support the goals of the organizations in which I have participated. I am excited to apply these skills to the RFA.
Secretary
Cordelia (Corry) Robinson Rosenberg, PhD, RN
I retired and was re-hired at the University in 2020 as there were a number of grant funded projects that I was still involved in. My goal in this role would be to accurately document meetings and do a satisfactory job as secretary.
My approach to accurate record‑keeping, timely communication, and transparency: Use whatever tools are available to do satisfactory job. Would expect to provide timely reporting of any meetings.
