Introducing Information Strategy and Services
Jan 21, 2026
Happy New Year from Information Strategy and Services! As we start the new semester, we wanted to take this opportunity to reintroduce ourselves.
Who is Information Strategy and Services?
Information Strategy and Services (ISS) serves both the CU Anschutz and CU Denver campuses and encompasses the units previously identified as the Office of Information Technology (OIT); Information Security and IT Compliance (ISIC); and Information, Data Enablement and Assurance (IDEA).
With the launch of the CU Anschutz rebranding effort, we seized the opportunity to update our identity to simplify and strengthen our connection with the university community. Over the course of 2026, we will be removing our individual unit names (OIT, ISIC, IDEA) and will be one ISS.
Simply what does this mean, SERVICE rather than technology. This change will allow us to better serve our community and make it easier for our constituents to find solutions to their challenges - finding resources, utilize our services, and access the services we provide.
How does ISS serve the university?
Our teams are shaping the campus’s digital transformation strategy and guiding our approach to new and emerging IT services. Key priorities include fostering collaboration across campuses and the CU system with our distributed IT partners, facilitating access to cutting-edge research technologies (such as high performance computing, artificial intelligence, advanced data processing and analysis tools), enhancing the university's technology infrastructure, strengthening the university’s security posture and IT compliance, and making customer-centric improvements for faculty, students and staff.
What services and tools does ISS offer?
We offer a full range of enterprise software and applications that are currently searchable on our website. Other tools and applications that have been reviewed and approved for university use by our security and compliance team can be found on our Technology Reviewed for IT Compliance webpage.
We also offer many services such as technology help and troubleshooting, Audio Visual (AV), network and phones, email and accounts, websites and computing services, security and compliance, teaching and event technologies, and user training and education.
We are making improvements to our service catalog and websites which will both launch in the summer of 2026. As part of simplifying our name to one ISS, we will also be simplifying our website from multiple to a single ISS site. We will continue to share updates on the progress of these initiatives.
We appreciate the feedback you have given us so that we can make improvements to better serve you and the university. If you have any questions on our tools and services or you would like to share something with us, please contact our Service Desk and we are always happy to assist you.
