CU Anschutz supports Colorado lawsuit regarding NIH cuts, 2-10-25

Today, the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus provided support to the filing by the Colorado attorney general in response to the National Institutes of Health’s proposed reduction to 15% in indirect cost reimbursements for research.

As the state's only academic medical campus, the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus currently supports more than 1,000 clinical trials, has more than 14,000 enrollments in research studies, and sees more than two million adult and pediatric patient visits yearly.

These cuts to NIH funding jeopardize the foundation of our life-saving research. Reduced research capacity means fewer scientific discoveries, job losses, and delayed advancements on therapies and cures that could improve—and save—lives. The results of these cuts would be devastating to research and also the world-class care we provide.

Our commitment to advancing medical research has never been more vital, and we remain steadfast in this mission.
