The CU Anschutz Block Party returned for its 12th year, bringing faculty, students, staff, trainees and community members together for a lively late-summer celebration.More than 170 booths showcased CU Anschutz departments alongside Aurora-area nonprofits and businesses, with plenty to see, do and take home. Fifteen food trucks offered plenty of lunch options throughout the day, while Denver-based Little Moses Jones provided the soundtrack featuring ’90s R&B, 2000s hip-hop and other crowd favorites.

Our campus community gathered under sunny spring skies for our Earth Day Celebration.Students, faculty and staff celebrated the season with a free plant giveaway, food truck fun and other vendors on Bonfils Court.
Opening Day
April 3, 2026
Faculty, staff and students watched the Rockies baseball home opener on the video wall in the Anschutz Health Sciences Building atrium. Fans enjoyed classic ballpark snacks while they cheered on the Rockies!

It was a picture-perfect snowy morning in Colorado when Chancellor Don Elliman officially declared First Snow.Students, faculty and staff gathered in the Research and Education Quads to welcome the season with music, laughter and plenty of photo opps.
Everyone enjoyed hot chocolate, warm cider and cozy CU Anschutz "First Snow" scarves!
History Day
November 18, 2025
CU Anschutz celebrated its second annual History Day, honoring groundbreaking ‘firsts’ that shaped the campus. The program highlighted two transformative milestones: the Denver Chromosome Project and the creation of the Nurse Practitioner and CHA/PA programs — both national firsts that redefined care and education.
Attendees heard from a panel of featured speakers, perused artifacts displayed by the Strauss Health Sciences Library and enjoyed afternoon tea.
