The Chancellor’s Outstanding Staff and Service Awards celebrate the exceptional contributions of CU Anschutz Medical Campus employees who exemplify the university’s values and mission.
Beginning in 2026, four Outstanding Staff and two Outstanding Supervisor recipients will be selected from across the campus. Nominees should embody the CU Anschutz mission and vision and the University of Colorado’s core values, demonstrating:
Staff members selected will be awarded $1,000 each, subject to IRS tax withholding. In addition, awardees will be recognized during the annual Chancellor’s Outstanding Staff and Service Awards event.
All classified staff and university staff (excluding faculty) employed at CU Anschutz are eligible, with the following criteria:
A call for nominations is sent each year to the campus community in January. Nominations will be reviewed by the selection committee that includes representatives from the Chancellor’s Office, Central Human Resources, CU Anschutz Staff Council, and previous award recipients.
Submit your nomination through our online nomination form, which includes specific prompts to guide your responses. Be sure to include concrete examples that highlight the nominee’s contributions.
Multiple nominations for a single individual are accepted and will be reviewed; however, the number of submissions does not increase the likelihood of selection. Awards are based solely on the quality and substance of the nomination content.

Recognizing years of service is a wonderful way to show appreciation to employees. For staff and research assistants, the campus-level program recognizes all qualified university experience. We recommend colleges, schools or departments focus on years of service within their college, school, or department.
