Distributions from the fund will support the cardiac electrophysiology program in the Division of Cardiology within the University of Colorado School of Medicine, supporting the work of Wendy Tzou, MD, director of the Cardiac Electrophysiology Program . The endowment will provide flexible resources to advance strategic initiatives and address the program’s greatest needs, which could include research, personnel and trainee support and essential equipment.
Dr. Albinsson has served as a University of Colorado Foundation trustee, and she and Mr. Wahlstrom are dedicated volunteers and philanthropic leaders at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, giving generously through the Albinsson-Wahlstrom Foundation. They were inspired to establish this endowment due to the compassionate and patient-centered care they received from Dr. Zhou.
“We are honored to establish this endowment as a reflection of our shared commitment to excellence, innovation and the pursuit of knowledge,” they said. “Throughout our personal and professional journeys, we have been guided by the belief that meaningful impact comes from a clear vision, dedication, consistency and hard work. It is our hope that this endowment will support the Division of Cardiac Electrophysiology in its journey to become one of the best electrophysiology programs in the country.”
We offer our sincere gratitude to Dr. Albinsson and Mr. Wahlstrom for this significant gift and for their dedication to medical excellence and innovation. Thank you also to Angela DellaSalle and Hayley Nelson in the Office of Advancement for facilitating this philanthropic contribution.
