The Collaborative

At CU Anschutz, we believe mental health is health—and everyone deserves access to care that helps them thrive. The CU Anschutz Campus Mental Health Collaborative is a bold, campus-wide effort to improve how mental healthcare is delivered across Colorado. From prevention to crisis response, we’re working with partners to build a more connected, more compassionate system of care.

A three-tiered funnel, widest at the top. Text, top down, reads: Community Interventions, Care integration and crisis / acute settings.

These three focus areas form the foundation of our work. But the heart of the Collaborative is simple: making mental healthcare more accessible, more personal and more effective—wherever people need it. We’re expanding proven tools and approaches already in place, and aligning campus and community partners to create long-term, sustainable impact.

A Movement Backed by a Bold Investment

Moving image showing $50 million gift from The Anschutz Foundation and a $150 million match from Federal/National/State funding, entrepreneurs, institutional support and additional benefactors.

This work is already gaining powerful momentum. The Anschutz Foundation has committed $50 million to launch the CU Anschutz Campus Mental Health Collaborative. This challenge gift is designed to spark $200 million in total support from public and private partners.

This investment sets the stage for lasting change. With deep collaboration across our campus and hospital partners—including Children’s Hospital Colorado and UCHealth—we’re building scalable programs that meet people where they are, from community settings to crisis care.

Together, we’re creating a new standard for mental health in Colorado, and we’re just getting started.
