Department Summary: 
CU Anschutz Innovations collaborates with researchers, clinicians and external partners to advance new treatments, medical devices and technologies that improve patient outcomes. We work closely with teams at CU Anschutz, the University of Colorado, UCHealth, and Children’s Hospital Colorado to guide innovations through the most effective commercialization pathways, ensuring they reach patients and make a meaningful impact.

Work Arrangement & Location: 
This position exists on the CU Anschutz Campus in the Innovations Office, 1890 N. Revere Ct, Aurora, CO. This is a hybrid position with occasional in office meetings/events, but most work can be completed remotely.

Position Overview: 
We’re looking for a creative CU student to help us share stories of healthcare innovation at CU Anschutz. This part-time (3-5 hours/week), flexible role focuses on writing LinkedIn posts, creating simple graphics, and helping manage our social media presence. You’ll gain hands-on experience in digital marketing and storytelling while working with a team that values creativity and fresh ideas.

 

Key Responsibilities & Job Duties: 

Write, Post and Maintain Social Media Account (LinkedIn)

  • Draft engaging updates in clear, simple language.
  • Schedule posts and manage/monitor audience engagement.
  • Maintain social media calendar with team to keep content organized and timely
  • Learn & report performance analytics

Create Visual Content

  • Populate Canva templates with post details.
  • Design promotional flyers as needed.

Update Website Content

  • Upload articles to the Innovations newsroom (HubSpot/Sitefinity).
  • Add events and updates using Sitefinity CMS.

Create Stories

  • Write and produce simple video stories
  • Record and/or interview faculty stories and edit short videos (e.g., Zoom, iMovie).
  • Attend department events to capture insights, photos and content for posts.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be enrolled as a current CU Student (must be in junior year or higher of a bachelor’s degree program) with areas of study in communications, marketing, graphic design, media or related field
  • Strong writing and editing skills with an eye for clarity and tone
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn, Canva, MS, Google Docs and basic content tools

Preferred Skills & Bonus Interests (competencies):

  • Experience managing social media accounts (LinkedIn preferred).
  • Familiarity with Canva and basic video editing tools.
  • Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to distil technical concepts into accessible language
  • Interest in healthcare, science communication, innovation and/or business.
  • Creative, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently.

Length of Employment: Minimum of 1-year commitment required

Expected Hours: This student fellow position is expected to work 3-5 hours per week.

Wages and Benefits: $20/hour
