Society has also lost control of the ability to say who should and should not get a booster, said Matthew Wynia, MD, MPH. "The minute we started distributing the vaccines through individual doctor's offices and pharmacies and outside of big health systems and mass vaccination sites, where you had to register, we kind of lost control of the allocation scheme," Wynia said.
