What is SkillBridge?

The Department of Defense (DOD) SkillBridge program allows military service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or fellowships during the last 180 days of service. DOD SkillBridge connects transitioning service members with industry partners for real-world job experiences, aiming to provide a high probability of employment after leaving the military.

SkillBridge fellowships typically last 3-5 months, not exceeding 180 days. The duration may vary depending on the service member's military branch.

Once the department has the job description and training plan completed, please submit the information in the SkillBridge form.
