SkillBridge Fellowship Program

What is SkillBridge?

The Department of Defense (DOD) SkillBridge program allows military service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or fellowships during the last 180 days of service. DOD SkillBridge connects transitioning service members with industry partners for real-world job experiences, aiming to provide a high probability of employment after leaving the military.

Benefits of the SkillBridge Program

For Service Members:

  • Exposure to the civilian workforce
  • Opportunity to learn new skills and explore new career paths
  • Ability to leverage military experience in a civilian context
  • Networking opportunities to increase the likelihood of post-service employment

For Employers:

  • Build a pipeline of qualified individuals for future openings
  • Gain diverse perspectives and insights from military personnel
  • No financial obligation as service members continue to receive military pay
