The Endowed Chair in Bone Health will support teaching and research dedicated to the progression of the science behind osteoporosis and other metabolic bone diseases, with additional flexible resources supporting conference participation, curriculum development and more.
Distributions from the Endowed Musculoskeletal Research Fund will bolster the study of musculoskeletal homeostasis and disease to better understand the foundations of orthopedic challenges between bones, joints and muscles. It is the benefactor's intent that findings from this research will fuel the development of groundbreaking therapeutic strategies to treat conditions such as osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, muscle loss and fracture healing defects.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the benefactor, Dr. Burger-Van der Walt and Carrie Radant and Marti Laule in the Office of Advancement for their work in bringing about this extraordinary gift.
