The Foundation created this fund to help address the shortage of physicians in primary care and to encourage future physicians to "pay it forward" by supporting the next generation of medical professionals.
This gift will provide scholarship support for CU Anschutz School of Medicine students, with preference given to those interested in pursuing careers in internal medicine or family medicine. The Foundation intends the scholarships to benefit students in both the Peak-to-Peak Pathway and traditional medical student programs. Through this investment, the J and L Freedom Foundation is helping reduce financial barriers for aspiring physicians while strengthening the future primary care workforce.
We are deeply grateful to the J and L Freedom Foundation for its generosity and commitment to supporting the next generation of physicians. Thank you also to Jennifer Adams, MD, FACP, professor of medicine and associate dean of medical education at CU Anschutz, Vanessa Duran and Isabel McKenzie in the Office of Advancement for their efforts and involvement in securing this meaningful gift.
