A CU Anschutz Pharmacy graduate, David Lamb earned dual degrees in pharmacy and business administration from the University of Colorado in 1979, followed by an MBA in real estate and finance from the University of Denver.
After becoming Colorado’s first registered nuclear pharmacist, Mr. Lamb purchased his first community pharmacy in 1985, setting the foundation for what would become Good Day Pharmacies, a Colorado-based company that has grown to include 20 locations over four decades.
A serial entrepreneur, he has started, acquired and led ventures in IV pharmacy, outpatient surgery, agriculture, retail and real estate, while also teaching and serving on numerous boards. Mr. Lamb’s leadership and service were recognized with CU Anschutz Pharmacy’s Distinguished Coloradan Award, which he shared with his wife.
Nancy Lamb, RPh, a 1979 graduate of CU Anschutz Pharmacy, is a clinician and lifelong advocate for compassionate, patient-centered care. She has held leadership roles in major hospitals, founded one of Colorado’s earliest consultant pharmacy practices and pioneered home infusion therapy in the state through the creation of Home IV care in 1985.
A highly honored educator and practitioner, Mrs. Lamb has shaped pharmacy services for vulnerable populations for more than three decades and exemplifies the belief that pharmacy is both a science and a service.
Resources from this fund will support Dr. Joy’s leadership in advancing pharmaceutical innovation and entrepreneurship, translational research and student mentorship.
We extend our warmest gratitude to David and Nancy Lamb, Professor Ralph J. Altiere, PhD, and Isabel McKenzie and Ellen Goldberg in the Office of Advancement for their extraordinary work in making this transformational gift a reality.
