We are thrilled to announce that Patricia and Raymond Luzier have pledged a transformational $1.5 million from their estate for the establishment of two new funds within the CU Anschutz Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Inspired by the exceptional leadership of Saketh Guntupalli, MD, it is the Luzier’s desire to fuel discoveries that bring hope and healing to patients and their families.  

To honor their vision and accelerate its impact, the department has committed resources to support recruitment for the professorship the Luzier’s gift will endow, allowing this important work to begin during their lifetime. 

The Patricia and Raymond Luzier Research Fund will bolster research efforts across the major subdivisions of OB-GYN. Through National Institutes of Health (NIH) and industry-sponsored clinical trials, cross-campus collaborations and division-based community initiatives, this fund will accelerate full-spectrum, bench-to-bedside therapies, treatments and prevention strategies. 

The Patricia and Raymond Luzier Endowed Professorship in Women’s Health will provide crucial infrastructure and faculty support for a leading voice in the field whose work drives innovation in all facets of women’s gynecological health. The flexible resources generated by this endowment will help advance strategic priorities and assist with research expenditures, conference participation, curriculum development and more. 

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, one of the largest in the nation, is recognized countrywide for its pioneering training programs and physician-scientists, who are at the forefront of medical discovery. For more than 75 years, it has remained dedicated to utilizing groundbreaking science and leading-edge technologies to provide the highest level of care for women of all ages.
