We are honored to announce that a generous combined gift from Richard Hoffman, MD, MPH, former Chief Medical Officer of the state of Colorado and longtime supporter of the Colorado School of Public Health, and the University of Colorado Anschutz School of Medicine has established the Colorado School of Public Health Endowed Chair in Innovation. David Conti, MS, PhD, has been named the inaugural chair holder.
An early advocate for ColoradoSPH, Dr. Hoffman has long provided transformational support for public health students whose future leadership would connect communities and address the most pressing public health challenges. The creation of this new endowed chair is the latest in his extraordinary philanthropic legacy, joining multiple scholarships currently available to ColoradoSPH students.
Dr. Conti, who was also recently announced as the new chair of the Department of Biostatistics and Informatics, comes from the University of Southern California and will be joining ColoradoSPH in January 2026. This fund will provide flexible resources to advance Dr. Conti’s forward-looking work through new campus wide collaborations, innovative pilot projects and education initiatives in artificial intelligence.
We offer our sincere gratitude to Dr. Hoffman, the CU Anschutz School of Medicine, Dean Bradley and Kesia Culbertson for their partnership and collaboration in facilitating this special gift.
