Becky Takeda-Tinker and Allen Tinker Pledge $5 Million Planned Gift to Advance Neurology and Cancer Research

We are pleased to announce that Becky Takeda-Tinker, PhD, and Allen Tinker have generously pledged what is currently valued at $5 million from her estate to bolster two crucial funds: the Neurology Support Fund and the Cancer Center Research Fund. Once realized, these funds will provide vital support for leading-edge research within the CU Anschutz School of Medicine’s Department of Neurology and the CU Anschutz Cancer Center. 

The Neurology Support and Cancer Center Research Funds will ensure that CU Anschutz faculty have flexible resources to drive groundbreaking research, deliver quality care and foster a culture of leadership that reflects Colorado’s excellence. Through their philanthropy, Dr. Takeda-Tinker and Mr. Tinker hope to inspire others to give, creating a ripple effect of positive influence. 

Dr. Takeda-Tinker currently serves as the CEO of Colorado State University Global and has a strong record of collaborating with and leading diverse stakeholders to create innovative higher education and workforce training programs that advance economic and workforce success. As patients at UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital, she and her husband have experienced the exceptional care, concern and expertise that define the organization. It is their wish to provide a launchpad of support for others, fostering immediate and longitudinal impact. 

We are deeply grateful to Dr. Takeda-Tinker and Allen Tinker for their extraordinary generosity, and to Lauren Wise, Leah Montera, Marti Laule and Carly Werbos in the Office of Advancement for their collaboration in bringing this transformational gift about.
