Shi-Long Lu, MD, PhD, Professor of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at CU Anschutz, brings extensive expertise in molecular oncology and translational research to the HIE Impact Initiative. With advanced training from Tokyo Medical and Dental University and Case Western Reserve University, Dr. Lu’s work centers on head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) and salivary gland tumors (SGTs). His research integrates cancer genetics, oral microbiome science, and immunotherapy to develop innovative diagnostic and therapeutic strategies. Dr. Lu’s leadership in creating genetically engineered mouse models and saliva-based biomarkers exemplifies a bench-to-bedside approach that aligns with the initiative’s mission to advance precision oncology and improve patient outcomes.
