A New Year in Motion

As 2026 begins, our campus is already in motion ‒ bright with purpose and driven by people who make a difference. This year, we're focusing on what makes CU Anschutz exceptional: our community.

There is something energizing about kickstarting a new year. It offers a time to reflect on what we've accomplished together and to look ahead with optimism. At CU Anschutz, it's our remarkable people who fuel that sense of possibility ‒ those who teach, discover, learn, support and heal on our campus every day.

This year, we are excited to launch a new Outstanding Staff and Supervisor Awards Program, designed to recognize the dedication and impact of the hardworking staff members who keep our campus moving forward. While your contributions may happen behind the scenes, our nearly 5,700 staff members are essential to our mission. We look forward to celebrating your achievements through this new awards program, and you can find details and nomination information here. Nominations for 2026 are due by January 30.

Our faculty continue to elevate CU Anschutz as a national leader in medicine and health. We are proud to count more than 7,100 of the best minds in their fields among our ranks and eager for all you will make possible in 2026. From delivering healing and hope to our patients to developing game-changing new drugs, therapies and devices, you are shaping the healthcare landscape and strengthening our reputation as a destination for innovation and discovery.

More than 4,600 future leaders in health are training here today, and we look forward to welcoming you back as we dive into 2026. On January 28, Welcome Back Wednesday will showcase opportunities to connect with peers, explore campus resources and build community through our more than 100 student organizations. You are at the heart of this community, and we look forward to an engaging and productive year ahead.

As we step into the new year, we do so together with shared purpose and commitment to advancing a mission that matters ‒ now, more than ever. Your work, your passion and your collaboration make this campus extraordinary. I look forward to all we will accomplish together.

With gratitude,

Don Elliman
