At a Glance
AI Foundations is the starting point for the CU Anschutz AI Learning Journeys.
It is designed to help every member of our community understand the basics of generative AI, learn how to use approved tools safely, recognize the limits and risks of AI, and build confidence using AI for everyday work. You do not need any prior technical knowledge or experience with AI tools to begin. AI Foundations meets you exactly where you are.

AI Foundations learning covers the following topic areas:
- What generative AI is and how it works at a high level
- How to write effective prompts to get useful results from AI tools
- How AI applies to everyday work tasks such as drafting, summarizing, and organizing information
- How to protect sensitive data and understand data classification when using AI
- Why human review of AI-generated content matters and how to apply it
