Dear faculty, staff and students,
We write to share critical updates regarding youth programming and activities at the University of Colorado Anschutz.
Effective this month, Child Protection Policy - 3001A introduces updated requirements for hosting minors on campus. This includes a mandatory, standardized registration and approval process for all programs, events and activities involving minors. This process will be overseen by the CU Anschutz Office of Access and Engagement.
Policy Requirements & Resources
If you or your department, program or unit plans to host minors on campus in any capacity, please ensure you comply with the following while allowing sufficient lead time:
We are pleased to offer a new comprehensive website featuring step-by-step instructions, policy details, required documentation, training resources, FAQs and more. We recognize that having a one-stop shop for requests is important to an efficient process.
Open Forums: Policy & Process Overview
To support your implementation of these changes, we invite you to join one of our small-group open forums. These sessions are strongly encouraged for faculty and program administrators who host, sponsor or support youth programming at CU Anschutz. Space is limited ‒ please register early.
Thank you for your attention to these critical updates and for helping ensure a safe and compliant environment for all youth programming conducted on our campus.
If you have questions prior to the open forums, please contact the Office of Access and Engagement at oae@cuanschutz.edu.
Sincerely,
Don Elliman
Chancellor
