A Message From the President and Chancellors, 12-8-20

Dear Members of the CU Community,

We cannot say enough about the University of Colorado’s strong response to the COVID pandemic. Thanks to your tireless efforts, we have been able to continue to deliver on our mission in teaching and learning, discovery, clinical care and service. We understand and appreciate the difficult circumstances many of you have had to endure to do so. Thank you for your dedication and professionalism.

We all welcome the hope that comes along with reports of imminent distribution of vaccines. We want you to know we are in conversations, both at the campus and system levels, about just what it means for the CU community if the campuses become distribution points for the vaccine. Each campus is working with its local public health authorities to prepare for the possibility.

Expertise from around CU will inform our discussions on topics including logistics, timing, communication and prioritization of recipients within federal and state guidelines (such as medical staff and first responders, among others). The vaccine will be distributed in phases nationally, in Colorado and at CU. 

You will hear more from your campus (or system, for system administration employees) in the coming weeks as plans become clearer and issues resolved. We understand many questions will arise and timely and thorough communications are important. We will keep you apprised of progress and again, thank you for all you do to help CU navigate this tumultuous time. Hope is on the horizon.
