Support for East High School Community, 3-22-23

Dear students, faculty and staff,

We are following the senseless act of gun violence at East High School in Denver that occurred this morning in which two adult administrators were shot and hospitalized with serious injuries. This, just weeks after an East High School student died following a separate shooting incident near the school.

We are aware that many faculty and staff members at CU Anschutz have children at East High, and that others have ties to the school. We are also aware that today marks two years since the King Soopers shooting in Boulder and may be a difficult time for many.

As we send our support to the victims and all those impacted by the trauma of these acts, we want to make our campus community aware of special support sessions available this week for those who may need them.
