Remote Work Tomorrow Due to Inclement Weather, 12-21-22

Dear students, faculty and staff,

With record cold temperatures and snow forecasted for tomorrow, university operations will be on a fully remote schedule on Thursday, December 22. We strongly encourage you to work remotely if at all possible and to avoid traveling to campus tomorrow.

For CU Anschutz essential personnel who must come to campus tomorrow, please note that parking lot gates will be open starting at 5:00 a.m. to allow you to park as close as possible to your destination and to expedite snow removal. Badge access will remain in place on university facilities, and we ask that you ensure doors are closed after entering to mitigate the impact of the cold wind on building temperatures.

As Colorado weather can be unpredictable, we will closely monitor this storm and inform our campus community of any further changes to our operational status. Please plan for operations to resume as normal on Friday, December 23, unless notified otherwise. To receive CU Anschutz operational updates by text, text “CUAnschutzAlerts” to 226787.

As we prepare to break for the holidays, please remember to take precautions to safeguard your health and the health of others. With communicable illnesses circulating this time of year, it is as important as ever to do all we can to keep our community safe. Remember to stay up to date on vaccines, stay home when sick, and consult the latest public health guidance if you should become ill. You can find resources on the campus health resources webpage

Upon return from the holiday break, please consider wearing a mask on campus when around colleagues and peers. While not required at this time for those up to date on COVID-19 vaccination per current campus protocols, masks are an effective tool for preventing the spread of communicable illnesses and we strongly encourage their use.

As an important reminder, changes to CU Anschutz operations do not affect operations at UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital or Children's Hospital Colorado. Hospital and clinic operations are normal unless otherwise announced by those facilities. Students, faculty and staff assigned to work in the clinics and hospitals on campus must report to work unless those facilities announce changes to their operations. For more information about any impact to UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital please visit uchealth.org; for information about Children’s Hospital Colorado please call 303-890-8314.

Thank you and stay safe this holiday season.
