Disability-Related Access

Accessibility Arrangements

Graduates

Graduates will be asked during the registration process to identify any disability-related accommodations that may be needed to participate fully in the commencement ceremonies. Ramps can be added to stages to accommodate wheelchairs and anyone who is unable to negotiate stairs. Sign language interpreters can be arranged as needed. Service animals (not emotional support animals) are permitted at the ceremony and must be pre-communicated during registration for planning purposes.

If you would like to speak with the commencement coordinator about accessibility arrangements for the ceremony, please email commencement@cuanschutz.edu

Guests

Golf carts are available to shuttle guests needing assistance from the parking lots to the ceremonies and back again. Look for Information Tents and parking attendants in multiple locations to be connected with transportation.

ADA seating is set aside at all campus ceremonies. This seating is often covered to provide protection from the weather and easily accessible by wheelchairs, walkers, etc. Graduates are asked for information about guests requiring accommodations in order to anticipate the needs at each ceremony.

Reserved seating will be provided for guests needing sign language interpreters and those who are vision-impaired. All other ADA seating is first-come, first-served. Please contact the Commencement Office at commencement@cuanschutz.edu to communicate your needs so we can best serve you.

Service animals (not emotional support animals) are permitted on campus.

Wheelchairs and scooters are not available for rent on campus but can be found locally through medical supply companies.
